Psalm 119:33-40
November 3, 2024
I grew up in a home where going to church was prioritized. My parents were very invested in not only attending but serving the body of Christ in many ways and I learned early the importance of church membership. Not just being a hearer, but a doer of the Word (James 1:22). Like many others, in my youth I rebelled against my parents and Christ. He graciously called me back to Himself in 1982 during a revival in our church when I was 16 years old. Through the preaching of the gospel, Christ exposed my sin to me. For the first time I saw my sin and darkness in the light of the holiness of God. That night I called on Christ to save me from my sin. After high school, I met and married my lovely wife Dori to whom I have been married for 34 years during which we raised three daughters. Our daughters are grown now and we have added a son-in-law and granddaughter to the mix.
My wife and I were members at FBC Keller for many years where I served as a deacon and spent 17 years teaching and discipling youth. After leaving FBC Keller to replant Foundation I have had opportunities to teach youth and adults, preach the Word, and care for widows. God has graciously gifted me with a willingness and desire to serve the church as well as godly men to pour into me along the way. I am in awe of what Christ is doing not only in the church but also how he is using a simple man like me. I am overwhelmed by His grace towards me, His patience with me, guiding and calling me to serve as a fellow pastor alongside Casey.
My hope and prayer for Foundation is that God will continue to grow each of us here spiritually and that we will be a springboard for reaching our community and the world with the gospel.
